ELP Wins the MBOT Small Business of the Year Award

ELP is proud to have been named the winner of the Mississauga Board of Trade Small Business of the Year Award, sponsored by BDC. Selected from a field of 18 nominated companies, this recognition reflects ELP’s growth, innovation, and deep commitment to people, clients, and the work itself. 

A meaningful moment

This award is a meaningful milestone for ELP because it reflects the kind of business we have worked hard to build: thoughtful, resilient, and grounded in strong values. It recognizes not just performance, but the way that performance has been achieved, through care, discipline, leadership, and a genuine commitment to the people behind the work. 

Being chosen from 18 nominated companies makes the recognition even more special. With BDC sponsoring the category, the honour carries added significance within Mississauga’s business community. 

Built on people and purpose

From the beginning, ELP has believed that business growth should create opportunity. That belief shows up in the way we hire, train, and mentor people, as well as in the way we support career growth inside the organization. Over the years, that approach has helped ELP grow from 6 team members to 40, while staying true to the values that shaped the company in the first place. 

During COVID, when the industry faced serious disruption, ELP made a deliberate choice to protect jobs, pivot quickly, and keep moving forward. We shifted from live events into broadcast and virtual production, not only adapting to the moment, but building new capabilities that strengthened the business for the long term.

What sets ELP apart is not just that we adapt, it’s how we adapt. We look for thoughtful solutions, build new capabilities when they are needed, and stay focused on creating work that genuinely serves the client and the audience. 

That approach has helped ELP become more than a production company. It has made us a trusted partner known for technical innovation, strategic thinking, and the ability to deliver experiences that feel both seamless and purposeful.
